What does a speaker's fee include, and what additional costs will I incur?

Whether you're booking an after-dinner, keynote or motivational speaker, the guideline fee groups on our website and any fees quoted to you will only cover the speaker's attendance at your event. In addition to the speaker's fee, you'll also need to consider VAT (Value Added Tax) for all UK bookings and some international ones too. Also expect to pay for any other costs or expenses the speaker incurs, which usually amounts to no more than their travel expenses.

The exact amount you will need to remunerate the speaker's travel costs will, of course, depend on the individual speaker and the distance travelled via their preferred method of transport. Unless they're driving themselves door-to-door, in which case you'll just need to factor a per-mile rate plus car parking and any road/bridge toll charges, the vast majority will require business class travel and 4* hotel accommodation.

Only an elite few 'A' list celebrity speakers will require first-class flights and 5* hotels. However, so that you know up-front what your liability will be, we can often agree a cap on expenses or a buyout rate to include all their travel costs.
