Sebastian Vettel is one of the most successful drivers in Formula 1 history. His excellence is highlighted by a plethora of achievements and records, from being the youngest world champion at 23 years, 133 days, to having the third most victories of all time.
Sebastian’s record-setting F1 journey started when he became the youngest driver to participate in a Grand Prix weekend and also the youngest to score a World Championship point on his debut, racing for BMW Sauber at the 2007 US Grand Prix.
Sebastian joined Scuderia Toro Rosso in July 2007 and made history at the 2008 Italian Grand Prix as the youngest driver to win a Grand Prix. He joined Red Bull Racing for 2009.
In 2010, Sebastian won the first of his four extraordinary consecutive championship titles. After claiming five wins and 10 poles, his victory at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix crowned him the youngest World Drivers' Champion in the history of the sport.
Improving on this success, he secured his second championship in 2011 after obtaining 11 wins, 17 podiums, and a record 15 pole positions out of 19 races. Taking his third consecutive title in 2012, Sebastian’s hattrick of Drivers’ Championships ranked him alongside legends such as Sir Jackie Stewart, Niki Lauda, and Ayrton Senna.
Sebastian claimed 13 victories in the 2013 season, including nine consecutive race wins to equal Alberto Ascari’s 60-year-old record. In doing so, he sealed his historic fourth consecutive World Drivers’ Championship title, making him a quadruple world champion.
Joining Ferrari in 2015, Sebastian scored 14 Grand Prix wins for the legendary Italian team and finished 2nd in the World Championship for Drivers in 2017 and 2018. He completed in Formula 1 career at Aston Martin, racing for the British team until the end of 2022.
Sebastian is an ambassador for ecological transformation and has used his high profile to promote positive change in social justice, political, and environmental issues. This has included working with children to create a flower meadow for insects at the Austrian Grand Prix to protect biodiversity. T
Through his ‘Buzzin’ Corner’ initiative, he created a second insect hotel at the Japanese Grand Prix and campaigned for environmental protection.
His ‘Race without Trace’ project, which he showcased at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed and Red Bull Formula Nürburgring event, demonstrates how F1 cars can be driven with minimal environmental impact using sustainably produced fuel.
