Pete Goss MBE, is a multiple adventurer, businessman, lecturer and best-selling author. A West Countryman and Royal Marine, Pete is the ultimate competitor and perhaps best known for his heroic rescue of a fellow competitor in horrendous conditions during the 1996 Vendee Globe round the world race.
For his courageous act of bravery, Pete Goss was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty the Queen and France's highest bravery award, the Legion d'Honneur, by the French President. Pete published his extraordinary tale of triumph over adversity in the best-selling book ‘Close to the Wind' which has inspired people around the globe.
Pete Goss's other adventures include numerous seafaring expeditions and challenges such as exploring the North Pole and pioneering Team Philips - arguably the most advanced sailing catamaran ever constructed.
In addition to his multiple adventures, Pete is an experienced entrepreneur, having set up and managed 15 different projects. His real life adventures have shaped him to be a skilful businessman, leading workforces of more than 100 employees and brokering multimillion pound sponsorship deals. Pete is also a regular lecturer at business schools, particularly the Said Business School of Oxford University, where he has the privilege of being an Associate Fellow, and The London Business School.
Pete Goss is still adventuring and his talks have motivated and inspired people around the world. In today's challenging business environment, Pete understands the need for companies to deliver peak performance, he achieves this through mentoring and empowering individuals, motivating teams and driving companies forward.

For the most the best talk on Leadership they'd heard in their entire career – to put this into perspective Pete was briefing to 280+ officers from across the armed forces, 80 of whom are international, all of whom live and breathe 'Leadership' daily. By my calculation that's an audience with over 4000 years of Leadership
experience (!), all of whom were immensely motivated, inspired and humbled. What a great bloke!
