Nisha Katona MBE

Nisha Katona is the CEO and executive chef of Mowgli Street Food restaurants and founder of the Mowgli Trust charity.

After giving up her 20-year career as a full-time barrister, Nisha used all her savings to open the first Mowgli Street Food restaurant in Liverpool in 2014. Since then, she has expanded Mowgli Street Food to 24 restaurants across the UK with an aim to keep growing. It is recognised as one of the nation’s fastest growing companies according to The Sunday Times Fast Track 100 and has been ranked in their 2024 Best Places to Work.

Nisha founded the Mowgli Trust charity alongside the restaurant. She selects and supports local and international charities by donating over £500k each year.

In 2019, Nisha received an MBE in the New Year Honours List for services in the Food Industry. She is also the author of six cookbooks that encourages readers to try new ingredients and educate them on recipes that are simple, nutritious and tasty.

Not only does Nisha appear on our TV’s as guest chef on shows like This Morning, Sunday Brunch, Lorraine and more, she has also worked extensively as a food and business expert on several projects across the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Radio 4.
