Cassandra Stavrou MBE is the founder of PROPER Snacks, the maker of PROPERCORN and PROPERCHIPS.
Having always wanted to run her own business, in 2009, Cassandra quit her high-flying graduate job, returning to her family home, working in pubs in the evenings and at weekends, as well as undertaking painting commissions, to scrape together a start-up fund.
Two years later alongside friend and co-founder Ryan Kohn, PROPER Snacks officially launched.
Spearheading the healthy snacking boom, Cassandra built the business into Europe’s largest independent snacking company creating a challenger to
established giants and reaching over £100m in sales.
To date, PROPER’s products are currently sold in over 20 countries and listed in every major UK retailer.
In 2018, PROPER Snacks became a B Corp, making them the first snack brand to achieve this certification. The company have since successfully recertified, becoming the largest B Corp snack manufacturer in the sector.
