Daniel Foxx is an award-winning and critically acclaimed comedian, writer, actor, and podcast host.
Named ‘utterly hilarious and effortlessly charismatic’ by Rolling Stone Magazine, his debut stand-up hour Villain achieved a complete sell-out extended run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2023 and was nominated for NextUp’s BIGGEST Award in Comedy.
Villain embarked on an international tour which included a sold-out run at New York’s Soho Playhouse Theatre and, following numerous UK tour extensions to meet demand, ended with a final night at the iconic Clapham Grand Theatre.
On social media, Daniel’s comedy sketches have garnered tens of millions of views, amassing almost 750,000 followers, the success of which has seen him write and perform in BBC Radio 4’s POV as well developing a comedy series based on one of his popular sketch characters.
2024 saw the publication of Daniel’s first book Bedtime Stories for Privileged Children, which is based on his online sketches of the same name and lovingly mocks the super wealthy and elite. The Times described the book as ‘if Succession was turned into a series of Ladybird books’, while Joe Lycett praised it as being a ‘terribly funny book from an absolutely disgraceful person’.
Daniel also co-hosts the hugely popular Welcome To Hell podcast alongside comedian Dane Buckley, which sees the pair judging outrageous confessions from listeners, celebrating the salacious, basking in the bitchy and revelling in a good old fashioned gossip. Esteemed guests on the podcast include Josh Widdicombe, Abi Clarke and Tom Allen.
On screen, Daniel has performed on BBC One, BBC Three, ITV and Comedy Central. He has provided tour support for Josh Widdicombe, Rosie Jones, Judi Love, and Sofie Hagen, and garnered a host of accolades including a Writers’ Guild Award nomination, Dave’s Top 10 Funniest Jokes of the Fringe Festival, and the Brighton Fringe Award for Excellence.
As a writer, Daniel creates plays, screenplays, and musical theatre. His project, Unfortunate: The Untold Story of Ursula the Sea Witch (written with frequent collaborators Robyn Grant and Tim Gilvin) was a sell-out hit at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and embarked on a UK-wide tour. Unfortunate was named Best Musical in Theatre Weekly’s Best of the Fest, was described as ‘Triumphant’ by The Stage and ‘Laugh out loud funny’ by The Telegraph, and earned Foxx and Grant a Writers Guild Award nomination for Best Musical Theatre Bookwriting in 2020.
