Global Magician Dynamo Returns With Brand New TV Show in 2020

2020 is set to change the face of TV magic when Dynamo returns to our screens next year, with a brand new, jaw-dropping, three-part special.

The Sky One original will take viewers on a journey across the globe to watch Dynamo perform close-up miracles, impossible predictions and unbelievable feats of magic that will have a lasting effect both on him and the people he interacts with.

Popular for corporate bookings and private parties

Since his BAFTA-nominated Magician Impossible series ended in 2014, the London-based magician has been constantly busy through NMP Live agency, performing at high-end corporate functions and private parties around the world.

From a corporate hospitality evening at the prestigious Burj al Arab in Dubai — the world's only 6-star hotel — to a lavish winter wedding at glamorous London hotel Claridges, and other events at a variety of luxurious private residences and prominent desirable hotels. He even performed onboard a private jet, travelling from the UK to Venice, to celebrate a high profile celebrity's landmark birthday.

Not only that, but Dynamo also found the time to produce a critically acclaimed live tour, Seeing is Believing, which erupted from a 10-date run into a 3-year-long behemoth, selling over 750,000+ tickets and filling arenas across the UK, South Africa and Australia & New Zealand.

Career-threatening illness

However, during those intervening five years away from television, Dynamo — real name Steven Frayne — had also been battling with a debilitating and career-threatening illness. Crohn's is a lifelong condition with no known cure which causes inflammation in the digestive system. He was diagnosed with the illness in his teens and had to have half of his stomach removed at the age of 17.

Then, towards the end of 2017, the magician's health deteriorated after he was hospitalised with a "very bad combination" of food poisoning and Crohn's. He developed arthritis as a result and was in too much pain to even shuffle a pack of cards, jeopardising the career that he'd worked so hard to build.

After working extensively with a physio and his doctors to get the right medication and treatment, he's fought back and made a triumphant return.

When asked about the new show, due to air in 2020, Dynamo commented "This show has been a passion project of mine for almost three years and represents a whole new approach to the genre. I believe that now more than ever people need a sense of magic in their lives so I can’t wait for everyone to see what I’ve been working on.”

Dynamo has carved out an illustrious reputation in the world of magic, and after five years without him on our screens, his skill and mastery are going to astound viewers beyond belief.
