Having graduated from the University of York with a degree in psychology, Zoe Lyons created a huge buzz on the comedy circuit way back in 2004, when she won the 'Nivea Funny Women Award 2004'.
The same year, she also reached the finals of 'Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny Award' and, as a result, she has become a highly sought after act on both the national and international comedy circuit.
Zoe takes a sideways view of life, observing the many absurdities and turning them into hilarious routines and sharply written material which she delivers with her trademark high energy.
As well as being a series regular on Mock The Week (BBC 2) and what was The Wright Stuff (Channel 5), Zoe’s TV credits include The John Bishop Show(BBC 1), Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled (Dave), Pointless Celebrities (BBC 1) and winner of Celebrity Mastermind (BBC 1). Radio credits include The Frank Skinner Show (Absolute),The News Quiz (BBC Radio 4) and The Rest is History (BBC Radio 4).
Zoe’s debut solo show at the Edinburgh Festival went on to gain her a nomination for the Perrier Award. Since then, she has gone on to host the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny Competition in Edinburgh for the last three years. Zoe is also a talented actress, having starred in Outings at the Edinburgh Festival in 2014, which was later transferred to the St James Theatre in London.
In 2021, she was given her own teatime TV quiz show, Lightning, on BBC Two. She also hosts Stand Up and Deliver, on channel 4,
She was featured in The Independent's tenth annual Pink List detailing the 101 most influential lesbian and gay people in Britain.
